J-Lo has been busy since performing at the opening of the World Cup in Brazil in June.
On July 16, a new docu-series she produced, "Los Jets," premiered on NuvoTV. The six-part series follows a group of young men as they face the adversities of being the average American teenager, as well as the struggles of being undocumented in this country.
The inspiration for the docu-series came from the book, "A Home on the Field," written by Jets coach, Paul Cuadros. He had founded a soccer program at a North Carolina high school, where many students are undocumented. Cuadros explains the reason why he started the soccer team was to create a place where the boys felt accepted.
Eventually after three years, his wish came true, and he led the team to win the 2004 State Championship. Cuadros is hoping the series will shed light on the Latino youth in America, as welll as the controversial subject of immigration.
Lopez, the current COO of NuvoTV, has also produced "The Fosters" for ABC, "Q'Viva! The Chosen" for Univision, and "Shades of Blue" for NBC.
According to Cosmopolitan, she commented about "Los Jets" during a recent LULAC convention.
“It is about the American dream and social and politic issues," says Lopez. "But also, it's about just wanting to belong."
