For this week's Friday Feature, we are featuring a few Latino actors that really make us proud to say that we are Latinos!
Some of them just are just starting out but already making a stamp in the film industry, and some have already left their mark and still continue to please audiences with their presence on the big screen. Here are just some of the films that you can catch them in this weekend. Enjoy!
Life After Beth (Premiering August 15)
Aubrey Plaza stars in “Life After Beth” - the hilarious story about a young man who lost his girlfriend, and when she suddenly comes back from the dead, she turns out to be a man-eating zombie.
The Puerto Rican actress is widely known for her role in the show “Parks and Recreation” where she plays April Ludgate. The actress also appreared in "Safety Not Guarenteed", in 2012 - which was awarded eight awards - one of which was awarded to Plaza for Favorite Actress by ALMA Awards. The 30-year old actress still has more in the works for us in 2015 with a few more big-screen appearances.
Expendables 3 (Premiering August 15)
This action-packed film is jam packed with famous actors, including Antonio Banderas. The next part of the trilogy follows the team getting together for yet again another battle, as they try to survive being wiped out.
Banderas was born in Spain and became a actor by a twist of fate. When he was younger, he aspired to be a professional soccer player, but at the age of 14 broke his foot. As he looked for other ways to stay occupied, he ended up falling in love with theater, and the rest is history.
Let's Be Cops (Premiered August 13)
In this comedic film, two good friends decide to dress up as cops for a costume party, and as they get into the persona, it takes on a life of its own. The two friends get caught up in a series of events that are both hilarious, but unfortunate, as they have to figure out how to get out of their web of lies. Veteran actor Andy Garcia appears as Detective Brolin.
Andy Garcia, the 58-year old Cuban actor, has done a spectacular job at remaining one of the most private men in Hollywood. The Oscar-nominated actor has had his fair share of honorable mentions with his long list of films, and he has a few more roles coming up in 2015. The actor really made his break when he was cast as Vincent Mancini in “The Godfather Part: III”.
